Terms of service
These terms cover your use of Mistpane and Mistpane Pro, which are sold by Humming LLC. By installing the extension or subscribing to Pro, you agree to them.
What Mistpane is
Mistpane is a browser extension that blurs things on web pages before you share your screen. The free version is free to use. Mistpane Pro is a paid subscription that unlocks extra features, listed on the pricing page.
Mistpane does its work locally, inside your browser. Page content is never sent to us. The privacy policy explains exactly what is stored and where.
Pro subscriptions
- Price. Pro costs $3.99 / month or $29 / year, plus any sales tax that applies where you live.
- Free trial. Every new subscription starts with a 7-day free trial. Checkout asks for a card up front. If you cancel before the trial ends, you aren’t charged. If you don’t, the first charge happens when the trial ends.
- Renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year, and your card is charged the then-current price, until you cancel.
- Cancelling. You can cancel any time in the Stripe customer portal, which you can open from Manage subscription in Mistpane’s settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current trial or billing period, and you keep Pro until then.
- Refunds. See the refund and cancellation policy.
- Price changes. If we change the price, we’ll tell you by email before it applies to your next renewal, so you have time to cancel.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, never to us or to the extension, and Stripe’s own terms apply to the payment itself.
Your license key
When you subscribe, you get a license key that unlocks Pro in the extension. The key is tied to your subscription: it works while the subscription is active or in its trial, and stops unlocking Pro when the subscription ends. It’s for you, so please don’t share or resell it. We may deactivate keys that are clearly being shared or abused.
Using Mistpane fairly
Don’t try to get around the license check, resell the extension, or use it to break the law. Mistpane helps hide things on your screen, but it is a convenience, not a security guarantee: always check what’s visible before you share, especially on pages with sensitive information.
No warranty
We work hard to make Mistpane reliable, but it is provided “as is.” We can’t promise it will catch every piece of sensitive information or work on every site. To the extent the law allows, Humming LLC isn’t liable for indirect or consequential losses from using Mistpane, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes and ending
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we’ll update the date at the top and, for subscribers, let you know by email. You can stop using Mistpane at any time by uninstalling it and cancelling Pro. We may end access for someone who breaks these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA.
